Frequently Asked Questions

What is Powder Coating?

Powder coating is simply dry paint. It contains no solvents and is applied in dry powder form directly to the surface of the metals to be coated.

How is Powder Coat Appled?

Powder is applied electrostatically by positively charging the powder particles and applying them directly to the grounded metal part. After oven curing about 25 minutes, the powder forms a uniform and extremely durable high quality finish.

Why Powder Coat?

Quality    Powder coating is cost effective and superior to most liquid coatings for:

  • Chip Resistance
  • Corrosion Resistance
  • Chemical Resistance
  • Abrasion Resistance
  • Impact Resistance
  • Ultraviolet Resistance
  • Adhesion
  • All Weather Durability

Environmental    Since there are no solvents, the entire powder coating process is environmentally friendly.

  • No VOC's (Volitile Organic Compounds) or emissions into the atmosphere.
  • No hazardous waste
  • Application is approved by the Environmental Protection Agency
  • VIrtually eliminates environmental compliance issues.
